I don't chase stars and thumbs-up. What I do care about is asking how you experienced the collaboration and the contact. Positive reviews are nice, negative ones often say even more — and in this line of work you should take everything with a pinch of salt. Read along, but above all trust your own judgement.
In an age of ghosting, I would rather build a lasting network — with candidates, clients and every other professional contact.
In 2020 I was nominated for Most Influential Recruiter of the Year. Down-to-earth as I am: after that you have to go and gather votes, and that is exactly not my game — I would rather find candidates.
Even so, 42 colleagues cast their vote for me of their own accord, because they valued my work. Honestly, that meant more to me than the nomination itself.
Shortly after, in 2021, a Spanish ATS vendor named me a five-star international recruiter. A nice gesture, of course.
But here too: always consider the context in which something like that is said. I give it exactly the weight it deserves — no more, no less.
